I've got a relatively new site. It went live about a year ago. It had about 300 "core" pages (out of a total of 900 pages) indexed by Google by early October.

Then I started posting the daily news articles and the traffic and impressions started to go up consistently. But on Dec 4th and 5th I saw a huge decrease. So this seems to have happened before the December updates were rolled out.

Over the next 2 weeks when I do a site:mysite.com in Google, the pages dropped from 1,000+ to less than 10 now. However Search Console still shows as of 12/23 I still have 598 pages indexed.

I've tested URLS in SC and they all show they can be indexed by Google. I've manually requested reindexing and they won't. What's odd is that these main pages were previously indexed and now they aren't. When I test the Live URL, everything looks fine.

The site has zero authority. I wanted to take it slow and built that up naturally over time rather than buying guestposts, PR, etc like I'd normally do. I understand the site not ranking with no authority, but I don't understand the cliff we fell off.

There are no Security or Manual actions in Search Console.

I've been building sites professionally for a long time. The design and technicals are all solid. Pages are well interlinked, and the content is good. User metrics such as time on site, pages viewed etc all seemed good.

No banner ads or affiliate links.

Not really sure what to think at this point.

Most of these idiots are the ones who upgraded from swifts and wagon r to base model of creta thinking they are the king of road now.
