Ask yourself that. Depends on if you wish to have a forever person (lifetime partner) to share a home with, have children with (optional), mix finances with, share joint life goals and a combined lifestyle. How you picture your ideal life in ten years from now, should give you an answer.

I've traded off and on for almost 20 years but never seriously due to work commitments. Now I have the time I'm starting afresh learning how to daytrade off the 5 minute charts and this is based on some of the changes I've made.

Write out the details of your strategy including everything you use to decide on trade entry, management and exit. I found lots of holes where I thought I knew my criteria but many where vague and optional.
I also had indicators on my charts that I didn't use.

When you journal trades detail everything surrounding the trade including your state of mind, why you chose to enter at that place with that size, why you make any changes such as moving your stop-loss, and why you closed your trade when you did. Most importantly, record what happened after you closed and whether the exit was in accordance with your plan.

Analyse your trades by looking at how closely you stuck to your plan and why you made any changes. Did you make any mistakes, like forget there was NFP news or something like that?

I'm learning price action through Al Brooks video course. The biggest eye-opener is that I've started mark up the charts at the end of the day with where entries and exits should have been in accordance with my strategy.

This is NOT hindsight trading and saying I should have bought at this high or whatever.

This is looking and seeing where there was a valid signal, signs of reversal, when a trend was starting and so on. Did I see it at the time? Did I take that trade and if not why not. Did I spot that signal to exit?
As with all strategies some of the signals will give entries that failed and would have led to a loss - these must be marked up as well.
The idea is to train our eyes to see the set-ups and signals as they form and to get the confidence to act on them.

Validation can be as simple as getting an idea, and asking some people if they’d pay X money if you deliver it under conditions Y by time Z.
