Imo there we don't have to blame Gambir. This team is having this weird attacking batting approach towards Test cricket for the past 4 years. Of late bowlers also evolved to deal with this that we can witness from the downfall of England which is known for this attacking bazball approach. Now Indian batters too realized this problem. They started going back to traditional test batting. They are in a transitional period. Soon they will bounce back. Rohit and Kohli have to decide about hanging their boots soon.

Maybe having a lower resolution screen? WindowServer draws everything on the screen. The more pixels you have, the more WindowServer needs to work. I don't necessarily think WindowServer is buggy.
