Real people who make crazy returns are hidden in the industry. They do not have funds open for the public, it uselessly draws a lot of attention to them, and regulations are very strict. The funds that we see and think don't defeat benchmark returns are actually the ones which are heavily regulated because they accept funds from the general public.
