Automatic DPF regeneration is a very common feature that’s found in most modern diesels.

The Ecosport diesel had it back in 2017.

German cars with bigger diesels had it back in 2015.

What basically happens is the ECU increases the idle and runs a bit richer to burn off carbon from the DPF. It’s a regular functioning of a modern diesel, not some special feature of the i20.

I don’t mean to offend or to break your spirit but the i20 is far from a “hot hatch”. It’s an economy hatchback at best, the true hot hatches are the i20 N and the VW Golf GTI.

Even amongst the cars we have in India, I’d call an i20 N Line more closer to a “hot hatch” than a diesel i20.

I'm 5'6". Fought with this question for like ages, felt more comfortable on meteor but liked classic more. I can't flat foot classic. Finally bought a classic, haven't faced any major problems. If you have a pillion and you need to reverse the bike, that's one time I faced a problem. Other than it has been fine. In riding you'll face no problems at all. Parking time you might first pull the bike from parking spot and then get on the seat, as moving the bike on tiptoes if the parking has a slight slope or bump can be tricky.
Really enjoying my classic. My advice, get a test ride, get it if you like it.
