They source their pride from it. You don't have to actually succeed if you define success as surrendering freedom and time.

It's not even however many hours they say when you consider commute and non-work stuff that is added into by the job. Getting messages off the clock, after-work events, HR paperwork, it all drains more of their sad lives.

Not just broker purchasing high rises apartments or upgrading to cars from scooters, but electricians and plumbers have now started sending their kids to top-end schools like DPS after making money off of us in the name of so-called maintenance in every society that practically covers nothing and everything comes under “personal work” and then these people say a couple of funny sounding names and ask you to go to a local market and buy it, where you’ll anyway get ripped off by the shopkeeper, so we give up and tell them you only go ahead and bring the material required to fix the faults, and then they earn a solid cut on each material plus the insane labour charges. Good times to be a broker, driver, electrician, plumber and especially an AC technician in Gurgaon. Everything but a middle class working a 9-5 corporate job.

Sounds like you have a stressful job with no breaks. 40 hours a week and 1 hour one way commute is manageable.

Whoever works 60 hours is a crazy workaholic with no interests or desperate for money. Literally working 1,5x as much time for what I've seen slightly more pay.
