First, you need to distinguish whether you're helping small businesses or startups. These are very different parts of the same ecosystem.

Personally, what moves the needle for me is networking. However, if the point of this event is to open people's eyes to the world of entrepreneurship, then you need success stories. Invite local business owners to come and talk about what they do, how they got started, and the highs and lows of their journey.

What would be really cool is to give the students exclusive tours of local businesses to learn how they operate, and then hear the owners story.

Now I come from a perspective of someone that owns small businesses, not startups. Again, these are very different.
