Do not be honest. Tell blatant lies if you need to, but don't lie about things that can be verified or quickly found out. Saying that you have skills or experiences that you don't have are not good things to lie about. Saying that you've been working for a family member instead of just NEETing for the past couple years is a good thing to lie about. No you are not a NEET, you're a receptionist or custodian for your uncle's business or something. Just make sure that if you're gonna tell lies, you can make up a convincing story on the spot.

Less risky than lying about what you've been doing for the past several years is lying about your feelings and intentions. If they ask you why you want to work for fucking Starbucks or something, tell them that you like the brand, you like working in a team, and that providing a good service and seeing customers smile at you makes you feel fulfilled. Come up with short anecdotes that corroborate what you say about yourself.

Keep things relevant and concise. 99% of what you share about yourself should be useful for an employer to know about you. Do not go into your life story if they ask a somewhat personal question. They don't really want to get personal, they're always trying to find out what kind of worker you are.

Keep in mind that even if you get rejected this time, you'll eventually get another chance. You were deemed good enough for an interview this time, so it'll happen again. There are a lot of jobs out there that most people can do without anything beyond a primary school education. You're good enough for those jobs and all you need is a chance.
