Are You Ready for the Most Dangerous Year Since 2008?
First, some context:
It’s rare for a mutual fund manager to discourage investments in specific segments. After all, their business thrives on managing more money (AUM).
So, everyone paid attention when Naren made a strong statement. Here’s why he’s cautious:
Worry 1: Transfer of Risks
In 2007-08, banks bore the risks of lending to companies. Now, that risk has shifted to equity investors.
Compared to borrowing from banks, companies are now raising money through QIPs/IPOs - essentially borrowing from you, the investor.
Worry 2: High Valuations
- Mid & small-cap valuations are at ‘extremely absurd’ levels.
- Metrics like market cap, median P/E, PAT vs. market cap, and momentum are flashing warning signs. Investor sentiment is too positive. But the outlook for returns is bleak.
Worry 3: SIPs Don’t Always Work
If you started a SIP in mid/small caps after 2023, the outlook looks poor (unless you’re a 20-year investor).
SIP works best in undervalued, volatile asset classes. But averaging costs at high levels is not good for medium-term returns.
Hybrid & Flexi-Cap Funds > Mid & Small Caps?
- Naren suggests shifting focus to hybrid, multi-asset, and flexi-cap funds.
- Mid & small caps are overvalued—“It’s a clear time to exit.”
- Large caps & quality stocks are better positioned.
Recently, FIIs/hedge funds created shorts on large caps.
But when the dollar weakens and FIIs return to India, they will likely buy large caps in a big way.
Naren believes this shift makes large caps an attractive bet.
Naren’s message on selling mid & small caps is loud and clear.
Caution: no fund manager is right 100% of the time.
But given the valuation frenzy in mid & small caps, it’s reasonable to temper return expectations from this space.
Naren is known for his contrarian style of investing, which revolves around the belief that markets move in cycles and that these cycles always tend to mean revert. -
India IT sector boom
The PM said nothing wrong, he distilled the issue of bias in AI responses to an example that even a school going child could understand, his job is to give the right people the right roles, his job is to understand the scope of AI, its potential and challenges, he wasn’t there to teach the world on technical aspects of AI, but to democratise the understanding of AI, and he did that. -

Armchair experts think they know Dubai conditions better than those who have actually played there lmao. Atleast wait and see how they do before you criticize. -
And Vir Das nailed it
Actually we really do come from two India where mainstream media anchors who spread negativity are celebrated while comedian with some distasteful joke got arrested and mind if i say the first influence more masses than the other! -

Do Vishnu’s Avatars Inherit Karma? Questions on Reincarnation and Divine Justice
Paramatmā is not bound by/to karma. Paramatmā gives the results to our karma when the timing is right.
Yes, Maha Sri Vishnu can incarnate somewhere twice if he so chooses to, as it's the case of Rama and Parashurama. Every time He comes to this planet is for a reason to uphold dharma, and their encounter was very elemental to that happening. -

Thinking of Buying the X200 Pro, But What Are Its Cons?
I've been on the lookout for a new phone, with some excellent camera, and the x200 pro was on my list of phones.
That, the oneplus 13, and the S25 Ultra were my options.
Purely from a camera perspective, the x200 pro is an amazing phone. Like its literally class leading in a lot of areas. The hardware is magnificent. But that's where things stop though.
As an architect, I wanted a phone that I can use to take and push out some good shots for social media. The software makes a lot of difference. A friend used a Vivo before, the software is not upto the mark. Honestly, most android phones from china suffer from software issues. Broken translations and their emphasis on emulating the iPhone really turn me off.
Off the phones, I decided to go with the S25 Ultra, I've been a note user for a while, and the S-pen is way too useful to ignore for me. So it was an easy choice.
Also, OneUI 7 is genuinely great. Its skinned android, but its very mature where it is right now, with a ton of features that makes stock android feel........lacking.......a bit.
Also, if photography / videography is your primary concern. While the X200 pro is genuinely the king in camera hardware, its beat when it comes to software, and most importantly accessories.
The S25 U can get a neewer case, with lenses and filters that can amplify its output a lot. The X200 pro because of the way the camera is positioned makes it hard to find good accessories.
Also, the Snapdragon processor is genuinely bonkers. What used to be cloud editing, like the generative fill in previous galaxy AI's can now be done on the device.
That plus the 7 year software support makes the the S25U the best choice here. At least, personally for me.
I do find the X200 pro, very fascinating still. However, the software support makes it hard to justify spending that kind of money.
What's your use case ? And why do you want to spend that kind of money on a phone ? If you can be clear on that for yourself, it makes it easier to decide on which phone suite you better. -
