I dont know why they added VM support rather than full linux support, nowdays every android phone out there has more computing power and is eligible to run full blown version of linux

About the assam beef ban, there was a sub-election going on, a constituency that has been ruled by Congress (Muslim majority) for 40 years was won by a hindu BJP candidate. So the opposition alleged that beef was distributed the night before the election day, though they couldn't show any proof as usual.

Due to this the CM banned beef in public restaurants though it is still allowed to be eaten in private places. The funny thing is there were protests against this, but people were burning puppets of the opposition leader who gave the allegations, and not the CM.
