You are talking about this side road going outside Bangalore which people can take during day time. It can get risky to travel in these village roads at night. It is not the main airport road people take to travel from airport to Bangalore. And looks like he took the Bangalore airport road via hebbala which is the right thing to do past mid night. Especially if the driver doesn't know the inner roads and there's no network occasionally around those villages. If something had happened then you would have raised "techie robbed on a village road on route airport to Bangalore".
