The best experience I've had to date was with the Triumph showroom (for anyone who is interested it is the Riya Triumph showroom in Vadodara, Gujarat). The staff was incredibly polite and knowledgeable about the bikes. They spent a lot of time going through the features and abilities of the bike with me. We were offered water, tea and coffee. The setup of the showroom was beautiful and well lit with a lounge like area and there was a beautiful display of their riding gear, apparel and accessories.


They had the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X for test ride and they offered it freely. No conditions or restrictions. I even mentioned I'd like to see the bike's handling in traffic as I'd had a highest test ride earlier (from the same showroom) and they told me to take my time.

It was an amazing experience and I ended up booking and paying in full for the Scrambler 400X. Just waiting to take delivery now.


At the same time my visit to the KTM showroom was horrible. 1 display piece of the D390. One very short and restricted test ride that took 25 minutes to arrange. I wonder what they were doing with the bike as when I got it, the tank was flashing empty. The sales guy was completely uninterested and couldn't care less if I bought the bike or not. The showroom was dull and uninviting. The whole experience lacked any life.


As I see mentioned in other comments, I went dressed casually in Tshirt/Hoodie and Jeans. Though I carried my own helmet and Gloves and wore my riding boots as I wanted a test ride. I had two visits to each showroom. Once I went alone and once with my mother as I wanted to show her the bike. But the behaviour and experience was the same for me in both cases.
