Is modi corrupt or india? Both are yours too :) bhai ek aadmi india main bata de jo corrupt na ho? Kyun pareshan ho raha hai, sab ne apna apna hi fayda dekhna hai, jis din sab dusare ka fayda bhi dhyan me rakhega us din yeh desh aur modi sab badal jayenge. Soch badlo! -

‘The President is neither a King nor a dictator’: Maine Governor Mills defends state’s transgender policies amid Trump investigation
From [Globe.com](http://globe.com/)
By Alexa Coultoff
Hours after [President Trump publicly sparred with Maine Governor Janet Mills](https://www.bostonglobe.com/2025/02/21/nation/trump-maine-janet-mills-funding-threat-transgender-athlete-ban/?p1=BGSearch_Overlay_Results&p1=Article_Inline_Text_Link) over the state’s alleged refusal to ban transgender athletes from competing in women’s and girls’ sports, the 77-year-old Democrat released a [statement](https://www.maine.gov/governor/mills/news/governor-mills-statement-notice-investigation-us-department-education-2025-02-21) warning Americans that “the rule of law” is at stake.
At the White House meeting on Friday, Trump told a room of bipartisan governors about his [recent executive order](https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/defending-women-from-gender-ideology-extremism-and-restoring-biological-truth-to-the-federal-government/) which bans “men from playing in women’s sports,” telling Democratic governors to continue fighting him on the legislation because “you’ll never win another race.”
Trump then asked if the “Governor of Maine” was in attendance and instructed the state to comply with the law, saying, “You better do it, because you’re not going to get any federal funding at all if you don’t.” Tensions escalated when Mills doubled down on the state’s position by saying they were going to “follow the law” and will see Trump in court.
“Good, I’ll see you in court. I look forward to that — that should be a real easy one,” Trump said. “Enjoy your life after governor because I don’t think you’ll be in elected politics.”
Shortly after the meeting, the US Department of Education notified the Maine Department of Education that it had been directed to initiate an investigation into the state over alleged Title IX violations.
The sudden spotlight on Maine follows a monthlong period rife with online spats between state politicians over whether transgender student-athletes should be allowed to participate in sporting competitions, and whether the state must abide by Trump’s new definitions of gender ideology or remain consistent with locally-adopted school board policies that promote Maine’s unique Human Rights Act.
Mills, a former state attorney general and district attorney now in her second term as governor, said in the statement that withholding federal funds “to coerce someone into compliance” is a violation of the constitution. She warned that such actions could allow for an administration that targets groups based on race or religious affiliation.
“Who and what will he target next, and what will he do?” Mills said. “In America, the President is neither a King nor a dictator, as much as this one tries to act like it – and it is the rule of law that prevents him from being so.” -
Anyone who has lived abroad for an extended period of time and moved to thane?
I moved back to Thane last year after living in Canada for 5 years. It definitely has its challenges but I’m happy coz I’m closer to my family and friends.
Honestly I don’t have much tips for you because I’m winging it myself. But all I can say is just focus on the positives of why you moved back.
I hope it gets easier for you soon! :) -

Don't forget that he can be named interim FBI director should Trump wish to fire Patel. Just needs to sit in a senior level role for a few months. -
