Tf is high steppe DNA??
South Asians, except the people speaking Sino-tibetan languages and Austroasiatic languages (tribal groups from Central/Eastern India), are made up of 3 major genetic ancestors: South Asian Hunter Gatherers (AASI), Zagros people and Steppe people (Aryans).
Indus Valley Civilization was formed by Zagros and AASI people.
After its decline, Aryans moved into the subcontinent and mixed with everybody. So everybody has varying amounts of all these 3 ancestries.
And yes, Haryana has the highest steppe ancestry on average as well as in terms of upper limit overall (Rors, Jaats).
But this steppe ancestry is not why Haryanvis perform well in sports or why they are tall.
Manipur has no steppe ancestry, yet shows exceptional performance in sports.
Keralites have negligible steppe ancestry, yet are as tall as Punjabis/Haryanvis.
Reason for our better performance in sports is our sports culture. We actually CARE about fitness & sports.
Reason for height is relatively healthier diet compared to rest of India. Kerala is also well-off and has better nutrition, so they are as tall as us.
As a matter of fact, all those 3 ancestors I mentioned were super tall people. The AASI Hunter Gatherers were the tallest, taller than Aryans.
If nutrition flaws our corrected in Indian culture and if we stop obsessing over academics, all Indians will become taller and better at sports.
Better ask such questions on r/SouthAsianAncestry -

Maturity is realising that not shaming people for their clothing choices is actually the classiest of all- in frame: alfiya
Hehe. Growing up is realising that a lot of SM influencers who criticise skin show aren't the kind on whom skin showing is flattering, anyway. If it was, they would be the first ones doing it to get attention. -
