Sometimes I think that stepping on their toes very harshly is something i can possibly do when such a thing happens to me while in a crowded metro. Elbowing them hardly is also an option. Maybe glaring back would work.
I've tried these. The first two disorients them long enough for me to move elsewhere or shift my body in a manner that it's not accessible to them anymore.
