When I was a student my father needed some serious surgery, KEM was what we could afford. The doctors and nurses in the surgery ward were super hardworking and my dad got lifesaving treatments. The ward boys and orderlies were the opposite, I had to attend to all the bedpan, urine pot, vomiting spells etc. If you can get scheduled at KEM I believe your father will get good treatment.

You are NOT supposed to shift down and lock the rear wheels. You should blip the throttle and rev match, not just drop a gear and shock the hell out of your gearbox. It's bad for your transmission and clutch plates.

The term "engine braking" refers to simply leaving the clutch and letting the engine work against the bike's forward momentum.

It is not a replacement for your brakes, it's just an assist. You are supposed to engine brake in conjunction with your actual brakes.
