It's not an issue for the Hindi Belt since they have already embraced Hindi. Regional languages like Awadhi, Braj Bhasha, Magadhi, and Maithili—each with a rich literary heritage and history—are now been reduced to mere dialects of Hindi, a language that is barely a century old. As time progresses, younger generations will gradually forget these languages because they have no practical need for them. This is precisely what the people of southern India, and now Marathi, Bengali, and even Gujarati speakers, seek to prevent. If Hindi becomes the dominant common language, there will be little incentive to learn regional languages, leading to their gradual extinction.

Moreover, the idea that linguistic diversity hinders India's growth is misguided. Even before modern technology, India was progressing just fine. There sre other countries as well existing and growing with diverse languages. People naturally adapt—if learning a language is necessary, they will do so. But why impose it through the education system? Why is there a need to forcefully include Hindi on signboards in regions where it is not the local language?
