Started going to Cult.fit and now I’m a happy little human
I have been going to cult for several year. Even pre-covid. My take is that if the trainer is good and energetic, its a fun workout. If the trainer is a little lull then best of luck to you! -

Why do a lot of NRIs assume that you are brown = you must speak Hindi? My experiences in Toronto/North America
Faced similar situations in Europe. I don't understand or speak Hindi; whenever this happens, I just say "Hindi nahi aathi" and try to have a conversation in a common language we understand. I've also met several Pakistanis, and they too did the same. They became super excited to have a conversation with me and even guessed my state correctly after I mentioned that I didn't understand Hindi. -

It’s far less than 33 for Andhra Pradesh. TFR is at 1.54, which is below the US and roughly the same as Germany. AP will peak at around 2036.
AP is screwed unless it either
a.) has a steady flow of immigrants from outside
or
b.) gets its fertility rate up
or
c.) automates a lot of its industries rapidly -

Why do a lot of NRIs assume that you are brown = you must speak Hindi? My experiences in Toronto/North America
What’s worse is the expectation to speak Hindi when working with teams that have a lot of Indians. I’ve been in meetings that were fully conducted in Hindi while working in Sweden for a Bangalore based company. It was irritating at first, but was actually a blessing in disguise as I no longer have to pay attention in the meetings. -

My views:
It's not your fault. As someone who grew up in north India, I have realized that people don't give much importance to their regional language here. What I have observed is people from other parts of India, specifically the south are more connected to their culture and roots. North Indians are too insensitive to cultures and languages and it's growing with time because of the environment they grew up in. Sadly, speaking hindi is becoming a norm here and local languages (like marwari and awadhi) are dying. That being said, the culture here needs a revamp, but it doesn't seem it will happen anytime soon.
How I would handle it:
Speak something to them in your local language and when they seem perplexed, ask them "don't you understand telugu (just an example), are you not from India xD".
P.S. Before someone comes at me, I am a north indian and a hindi speaker, but it is high time we (north indians) become sensitive to other languages and cultures. -
Just why?

Bangalore heals my mental health.
Also as a heavy metal fan Bangalore is the only place in India where you would find metal and rock music fests.
