I think that India can improve. But what it needs is first and foremost leadership that can see the lacunae and prioritise and mobile large, consistent campaigns across the media landscape to create lasting behavioural change. A cultural shift so to speak.

It needs to be designed properly and supported by other means. Which means less money going into illegal electoral bonds, less money going into financial audit blackholes like PM Cares Fund (The money makes a lot of noise going in, then it’s never seen again), or wasting millions on the PMs travel (yet another black hole) and there are many more.

Once you do that, it takes a little while, but things start to change. People start to realise they have agency. Then they shift their attention to the next problem.

The issue then becomes - we have an engaged, alert public who then prevent corrupt people from taking over the country. Which is a huge problem for the current “ruling class”. There is no incentive for people who only love themselves and their love for the country is contingent on how rich it can help them become whereas we want a country that lets us lead comfortable, safe and meaningful lives.

For me it excels at reducing the cognitive load of task switching.

When I want to go back and forth between tasks I don’t need to think about the task. I just know that alt tab will take me back to the last thing I was doing and alt tab, tab will take me to the thing I was doing before. With edge inserting the last couple tabs into the alt tab stack, it becomes even better because all the above holds true even when the thing I was doing was in a web app.

On macOS I need to juggle a mixture of cmd+tab and cmd+tilde and CTRL+tab (for web apps)
