I think some traditions and rituals had significance at some point in time, whereas many others were just pure bullshittery. Regardless, one needs to evolve with the changing times. Things that were commonly accepted as normal a few decades ago are frowned upon nowadays. For instance, there was a time when doctors didn’t wash their hands before delivering babies, which led to infections and resulted in the deaths of mothers during childbirth.

The doctor who proposed a direct correlation between the deaths of new mothers and the unhygienic methods of delivering babies was ridiculed and eventually driven to lunacy. Today, with advancements in medical science and our understanding of germs, it’s unfathomable for a doctor to deliver babies without following standard hygiene procedures.

I believe we should embrace rituals that are beautiful, harmless, and enrich our lives—like Phooldei and Harela—while discarding those that don’t align with our modern knowledge and understanding of the world. A stagnant river smells foul and spreads disease, whereas a flowing river remains clean and nurtures the life around it.

Large Idli Vada costs 50-60 rs( 2 idli+ Vada) and 50-80 rs is the price for masala dose on average in old Bengaluru and it's the place where you get authentic ones.I don't think that is pricey.

Infact some tier 2 Karnataka cities sell expensive Idli Vada than Old BLR.

And yes we do like to eat our own food as you pointed out. I would eat Idli or dose for a straight month or two without getting bored.

And regarding Vada pav- we do have joints here scattered and it's consumed as evening snack.

In the US all the airlines need an ATPL, or 1500hrs so most of them become instructors after col to gain hours, don't know about India though. 250 hrs puts in debt of around 70 lacs, 1500hrs with no return seems impractical

Ridiculous. In Mumbai you can get a 1 bhk from 1/1.5cr to 3/4 bedroom flats between 20-40cr.

Are you going to be staying alone? Kids? How many bedrooms? Activity room?

Amenities. Pool, gym?

City or suburbs? Near a station?

Matunga east has turned gujju/jain. You will find it difficult to buy eggs. Even sarkari bhandhar has turned veg.

Dadar east (Hindu colony) is probably more suitable for you.

5 gardens/Parsi colony is probably a bit more cosmopolitan. Wadala bordering Dadar.

Shivaji Park, Prabhadevi is also ok.

Then there is sewri, mazgaon. Lots of new construction.

If you are comfortable there are pockets of Maharashtrians in the suburbs also. But I am probably not the right guy on that.
