In my opinion Punjabi nationalism on both sides of the border would be for the youth to stop looking abroad to live “the dream” and to invest their time in bettering Punjab in any way they can. We need a revolution in Punjab to take away our dependency on farming. I don’t see why Punjab can’t develop itself to be a major tech hub like Bangalore. If we are sending our youth to foreign countries it should be so they can do courses in city planning, urban development, and things of that nature so they can come back to Punjab and help lead the people who will lay down the groundwork for major cities, or industrial districts. We need people to be genuinely good role models for kids so in a generation or two we can stomp out the addiction crisis. If Canada and America can beat the cigarette issue that plagued their society for 60+ years I don’t see why we can’t to the same. None of this is going to be easy at all, but we need to envision a better future rather than trying to recreate the past.
