I watched a friend burn over a year of runway and hundreds of thousands of dollars chasing patenting his “invention” everywhere he could worldwide. Instead of growing his product slowly and openly, he made sure it was secret until he was almost out of money for the fear someone would steal the idea.

The startup failed. Not because the idea or implementation was bad, but I think because he didn’t let anyone see or use it, and wasted so much on patents/trademarks. The only person who won here were the IP law firms.

Don’t be like this. Ideas are worthless. Create a marketable product instead. You don’t have the money to enforce against china anyway.

The last time the AAP government tried concessions for women in the metro, it was delayed for two reasons:

1. DMRC does not set the fare but there is a fare determination committee for the same

2. The method used for tickets in DMRC is technology based and not manually done. Your smart cards are transferrable. If I am a beneficiary and have a smart card that works with the concessional scheme, as a student/woman, I can just hand my card to my 27 year old male buddy who works in corporate and he can claim the benefit.

Similarly, I can just issue multiple QR tickets from my singular device. No one can check if I have issued them concessionally or at the full cost.

Therefore, the whole ticketing system will need to be overhauled and made non-transferable.
