A cool idea? Sure. But what does “in the image of God” even mean? Does God for them literally have the form like a human? They would deny it even though that’s literally what Jesus is lol. Is it that the attributes of God are manifest in human beings? But then they would have to admit that jealously and anger inhere in their God also which is very clear in their scriptures:

“for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me” (Exodus 20:5)

But they ignore such verses of course. So they themselves have no clue what “in the image of God means” and they will never attempt to explain it either.

In my sampradaya (Trika Shaivism) God is literally the Self but on the ultimate level and the individual Jiva.

That's a sad thing.
This demonisation of everything non-christian is a very harmful Bias.
