R15 is an amazing supersports bike for beginner track riders. It is forgiving, lightweight and helps you get used to the riding style of higher CC supersports bikes.

Definition of a supersports bike is that it should basically be a road legal track bike. The word super here doesn’t mean the same as superbike. Superbike is anyway a dumb term used by non bikers, litre class or exotic class is a more common in the biking community (which genuinely doesn’t exist in India anyway). Supersports bike is defined by the riding posture of the bike.

But we live in India, where less than 20% of Indians own any kind of vehicle. So cars and bikes have become status symboland people choose looks over utility, just like how SUVs have become popular in cars. Most people who own r15 have never seen a track, never learnt how to actually ride a supersports, never been to a track riding school. They bought it for looks.
