I’ve always been a desktop user. I have nice expensive keyboards, a good mouse, 2 big monitors, and an iPad already. No reason for me to have another tiny screen with a trackpad and keyboard I’ll never use. Plus, the Mini has a smaller footprint. More space on my desk for my keyboard addiction.

I’m a Unix lover. I used Windows for most of my life, but switched to Linux in 2020 after being sick of the Windows bloat. I like Linux a lot, and I have a ton of respect for it, but I’m at a stage in my life where I need something that Just Works(TM). I wanted to keep using Unix though, and FOSS BSD just isn’t a viable option for me.

Mac also has a lot of killer software. I’m a musician. Find a better solution for musicians, I dare ya.

I also play a couple “demanding” games. Path of Exile 2 recently. I don’t consider myself a “gamer,” but it’s nice knowing that the Mini can do that without breaking a sweat. And the best part is that I get all the positives of MacOS and standardized hardware with it.
