I’ve been to Rishikesh a couple of times now and have traveled by bus, train, and car too. The road is in excellent condition for almost 90% of the way and the traffic is absolutely insane. By train, the journey is amazing. Rent a bike while you’re there. Parking your car in the open parking spaces will have a very high chance of someone backing into your car and leaving a dent or two.
