We use to live in Malwani for 21 years. The uptick (not uptake) in racism in Australia at least has its roots in some very real life issues including cost of living, housing affordability, reducing standards of life. Immigrants are an easy scapegoat. Don't lose sight of reality and do not blame Indian people for doing what anyone would have done in their place, ie trying to make an honest living and moving somewhere to try and improve their life.
