The narrative structure is good and it holds your attention in the second half well. CGI is meh but all the flight sequences are good.
Fighter had better CGI but narrative and dialogue choices were poor. Skyforce is better in that regard.

I really like learning about the history of Armed forces, so I enjoyed it more.

My biggest gripe is with Akshay. He has acted well for his own standards but isn't driving the emotional impact that a Squadron leader should give or even a soldier who will never leave anyone behind.

Someone like Randeep Hooda or Vicky Kaushal would have done a terrific job here.
