    Analogue paneer is legal in india but it needs to be labelled as such, if a vendor is selling fake paneer in the name of real paneer, they can face penalties under the Food Safety and Standards Act

    Wait my bad, paneer made from chemicals, starch detergent etc is illegal but paneer made from plant based material or soy nuts etc is legal, the gov just isn't strict about the regulation of this, man it's a really shitty condition, if you find anyone selling adulterated paneer, you can report them in the FSSAI food safety connect app or portal but I don't know how effective that would be
