They do. Following orders to a T. Project 2025. Makes me wonder if the Dems are just controlled opposition at this point.
  4. Feeling burned out and left out

You need to reach out to your friends, instead of waiting for them to call you and reach out to you.

Don’t feel like a loser for that, or like you’re desperate. Reach out a few times, see who responds. If people are not being consistent and responding after like, 3 times of you making the effort, then take that as the response, and let it go. But don’t let it go before you make a sincere effort. And the sincere part is key.

ETA: and don’t take their lack of response as an indication that something is wrong with you as a human being. Some people just don’t have the bandwidth for friendships. Some people aren’t meant to be more than acquaintances. It’s not because there’s anything wrong with you, that things don’t pan out. There is nothing wrong with you, or them, but still things don’t work out. That happens. That’s life.

You need to make the effort on your own part too. People won’t just flock to anyone. That’s not an actual thing. Even the most charismatic people have to keep up their end of the bargain to make real friends. People who do nothing, just have sycophants, and those people are the ultimate users who never find meaningful relationships.

Do what YOU want to do. Stop feeling bad about doing what you want to do. In fact, stop feeling bad about yourself, period.

Before going on a self improvement binge, stop viewing yourself as a net negative that needs to improve. That’ll just make you feel more discouraged and burned out. When you feel good about yourself, you feel more inclined to do stuff that end up being good for you. It’s not as counter intuitive as it sounds.

Ultimately, just remember, you’re a capable human being. You have the capacity to do stuff.

Also, motivation and discipline is not a will power issue. It’s a dopamine issue. Sometimes our brains aren’t great at releasing dopamine, which makes it harder to motivate yourself and cultivate disclipine. It’s not your fault, it’s not because you’re inherently lazy, or bc you suck. Sometimes, some people’s brains are just like that. Accept it as something that is not a character flaw, but as just a factor of how your brain is built, and work WITH what you have. It will make life much easier, make you feel better about yourself, and take off all the pressure you’re putting on yourself and being crushed under the weight of.

Learning about that dopamine thing was a paradigm shift. It was like a weight was lifted from my chest, to know at last that my struggles weren’t bc of a flaw in my character.

And this is going to sound like the most hokey thing, but truly, it is the thing that works. Cultivating genuine self-compassion for yourself. And I’m talking the real stuff.

The majority of the time we feel bad about ourselves, it’s for things that we don’t even need to feel bad about. For things that aren’t even actual character flaws. You’re fine, you’re doing fine, and your problems are the same problems that even the most successful people have.

And look on the bright side—you could be 53, and be as pathetic as Elongated Muskrat. He has 13 kids, but not one of them even like him as a human being. He is the most divorced man in the world. All those billions, and he can’t even buy the affection of a partner or one of his children. Or even a single friend. He is so desperate to be liked, or for some real affection from someone, anyone, but all of the money in the world, and he can’t buy that. He could pay for a different therapist for every day of the week, and take the time to genuinely become a decent human, but instead he’s like this.

I may not be all that well off, but at least I don’t hate myself. And I’m not as pathetic as that. That’s a small, but valuable win, as far as I’m concerned.
  5. Question for founders that have received VC money I will not promote

We use Mercury. We keep most of the money in Mercury Treasury (currently yielding 3.67%) and have a rule that maintains our checking account at some level ($150k).

It's something that intrigues me, because I've been to psychologists and psychiatrists and none of them are interested in getting to the root of it, they just limit themselves to prescribing antidepressants, anxiolytics or any other substance that turns you into a zombie.

We all have our own story, but we all have something in common, we have isolated ourselves, we have hidden in our caves and we are not interested in the outside world.

We all know how this ends.

Yes it definitely creates a pretty pink carpet like feel. This is the one in my home but it was taken years ago and honestly i forgot how pretty it was.
