I have done the trip so here are a few pointers for you, I went to prayagraj via nagpur, so my route was , Pune - sinnar - nagpur - jabalpur - rewa - prayagraj.
The roads are amazing, samrudhi mahamarg (Mumbai nagpur expressway) doesn't have any good eateries , so I would suggest you carry food with you, In MP the fuel cost is astronomical, so I filled petrol till the brim at nagpur and I reached UP where the petrol cost is in the 90's .
Roads are amazing except at rewa , don't take the bypass go through the city , the bypass is horrible.

When driving in MP keep an eye out for cattle, they tend to appear out of nowhere.

Final Update
The workers found 6 more such turtles yesterday while digging. My dad then called one of his acquaintance who works in forest department. He was told these turtle are illegal to own and are used as meat. They were all released by my neighbor and dad near a dam an hour away.

Thank you everyone for the advice. I've seen people have turtles as pets growing up so assumed this might be a common one . We had no intention to harm it. We were worried it will be killed during the construction along with others so got it home.
