My dad was brainwashed by Fox News and started threatening my mom so she moved in with my sister. Since then my dad has tried showing up there, called, texted, mailed my mom things, refused to pay alimony, etc. Even after the cops took his guns away he tried getting them back and probably tried illegally buying more (we have recordings of him talking about doing just that, among other things like joking about hiring a hitman).

The courts don't believe my mom when she tells them she's afraid of him, and have not punished my dad for violating their orders beyond the aforementioned confiscation of guns. She's been trying to get a divorce ever since this happened and it's been over two years now.

If the court believes this is "No Fault" imagine how bad things will have to be to get a divorce if this goes through.

OP, it's good to see that you're striving to bridge your knowledge gap. With 10+ years of experience, I've seen people do less coding specifically in very high position like VP, CTO because most of their bandwidth goes to people management, preparing technical strategies, meeting (like demos, town hall, meeting for preparation of another meeting) 😃

Anyways if you're really need to get hold of software development then for your experience, get started with HLD (actively review design docs, start contributing to HLDs, ask hell lot of questions on HLD to understand it deeply like you only prepared), participate in brainstorming meeting, design meetings and engineering scrums if possible (to hear technical blocker and their remediations).

If you have enough time to code, you may start some small side projects(because if you code on ongoing project and mess up a bit, people might make fun of you) utilizing AI ofcourse. For ongoing projects, you can immediately start their code review.

I'm assuming you're part of middle sized company (20-100) peoples. If it's less or more, few things I suggested won't fit good. Happy Engineering 💪
