World is a shitty place with shitty people, but sadly that does not mean that you just don't engage with people. One of if not the most important skill in life is building and maintaining a network.

You don't have to love them, but just know that you need to know people in life.

Also a lot of Indian families have traditionally had a "Risk averse" mentality which is ingrained in their children too. Because of things like these, we often don't think that certain things are achievable. "we are normal common people, we don't get/buy/earn/achieve these kind of things".

This mentality holds us back because often we don't even think beyond the "limitations" put in place by our family culture.

So my advise would be....take everything you think is possible based on the kind of teaching and upbringing your family gave you, and throw it out the window. Just know that you can achieve a lot more than your parents think you can.

You can see this turn into a negative, toxic trait for Indians. Anytime you see someone trying to do or achieve something unique, something different you will often see your family or friends say "oh yeh kya karega" or mock you. Ignore that.
