Sorry you’re going through this. My mom is the same way and it hurts me everyday when I see others around me who have very fulfilling and amazing relationships with their mothers. My mom is a 53 year old women child who still relies emotionally, financially and physically on her parents aka my grandparents. My grandmother has literally pampered her to a point where she never lived with her in laws ever and my father ended up staying with my mother and grandparents. But with me she’s very distant, has never showed love, has not cooked for me intently, is not even remotely interested or concerned about my well being and mental health. She just wants me to fulfil all her societal check lists so she can live off my achievements. But when I go to her with a problem she gets super defensive, stressed and extremely angry. It’s almost as if she does not want me ruining her happy space and peace. I don’t know what to do and I am constantly seeking her validation or trying to impress her but I always fail. I hope I eventually find peace in my life and I’ve learned to slowly accept that she in fact might be a narcissist.
