1. Tumbbad was such a mimd blowing movie with a great story and suspense. But what do you think made it underrated when it was first released??

    two reasons i can think of-

    1. Indian audience doesn't necessarily fuck with dark themes. This is fair because a majority of Indian population is overworked and resorts to movies/TV to turn off their brain and watch a light hearted themed media. This explains the success of horror-comedy genre in india as compared to horror

    2. Tumbbad had bad marketing. I've always been a cinema person so I would get to know about movies running in the theatres and watch it. I don't remember tumbbad in the talks at all. Not from the trailer, not from the interviews/ PR the entire hype was missing. Believe it or not, no matter how amazing a movie is, it requires a good PR team to reach it's audience.
