Exactly my question - immigrating anywhere is 10x more difficult right now. Especially now for Indians. Us universities fees are all time high with quite batch sizes. Universities do lure alot of students but jobs are quite difficult. Canada has been absolute ruin in recent years. Even low skill jobs are harder to get and inflation is extremely crazy there. Uk is itself going through recession ands people struggling to get job. Similar conditions in rest if world and countries are limiting immigration

depends on what your occupation is. life of a truck driver, electrician, plumber is much better in UAE/Europe/Canada. I am not including US as people in these occupations are sometimes forced to live in unsafe neighborhoods with limited access to health insurance.

For tech workers, a lot depends on your skillset too. Canada has lot of requirement for skilled workers, my company is hiring ethnic French and German people from Europe as they cannot find experienced engineers in Canada. For US it all depends on how good you are.

One of my friends, from India, now a US citizen lost his job 10 months back and he is still unemployed. He was in same company for last 12 years, was laid back and never took any initiative to learn new stuff. While many of my friends who lost their job on employment visa received offer within 2 to 3 months. if you are not deserving, incompetent or lazy, even grace of US citizenship won't save you.

I myself lost my job last year and it took me 2.5 months to find a job. The only difference I found was, earlier recruiters chased me with interview requests but this time I was chasing them.

There have been numerous incidents with me in PCMC area that the vehicle drivers have nearly hit me on streets. Thankfully I have narrowly escaped all these times. There are also numerous incidents where bikers ride on footpath and honk at me, but I don't give them way, why should I after all I am not coming in your way! Then when they come close they fire swear words at me. A few times they have pushed me also for coming in way(?) on footpath.

No issues at all. I travel blr - mys every weekend on that road by bike. And chill no one’s gonna have a hangover or get drunk on that road.

I am sorry you had to face this. I may be down voted for saying this, there is an increasing trend of locals getting hostile towards people who look out of town. If you protest you ll get some sympathy and some “go back to where you belong” statements.

These hostile choot locals give this city a bad name. But this tribe is going to increase as Bangalore grows.

And only way to curbing this is if police get into the act. But they won’t, most corrupt cops who don’t care - which is why there is an increasing flux of illegal Bangladeshis in the city. They don’t care, they won’t act on it, unless shit hits the ceiling.
