I live in UK since 2007. Still haven't got a spot on British accent. Understanding British accent is another matter. You get that with practise !!

Also there is no one type of British accent - what we rlcommonly imagine as British accent is south England, public school London accent. It's referred to as posh accent in UK.

There are other accents like Yorkshire accent( the most difficult to understad), Birmingham accent, scouse (Liverpool) accent, geordie (Newcastle) accent etc.
