Great questions and I'm glad you're asking them because it's better to ask now then to sit around. My general advice to founders facing similar situations is to put your concerns out in the open to your cofounders. Either you'll get one of two outcomes:


1) It will lead to you all creating much clearer ways of outlining responsibilities and communicating

2) They will balk and show you that they were not good cofounders for you at this stage.

I also angel invest/invest with a VC firm and so while I don't know your particular situation, I can say that it's replete with red flags that would make me hesitate (eg. cofounder not feeling comfortable bringing up technical questions for fear of being talked over, 3 months (!!!) to do market research, unclear responsibilities, cofounder is a friend, etc.)

Successful startups end up being successful because the cofounders are nuclear-level productive during early stages. That you're already finding things taking more time than they need to is, in my view, not a great sign. One thing you could do is join a few entrepreneur communities (like r/startups but ideally IRL) to see examples of people doing things well.

In moments like these, I wish I had some real power to take immediate action against such pathetic lowlives. But I hope it reaches the right people and gives justice to all the poor kids involved.
