I wrote an AI Trading algorithm myself, well the AI part. The Trading ist the hard part. You need three things that are not available for everyone for free. Hardware, data and software. My AI is really good in low Timeframes trained with dozens of different indicators and probabilistic models, but getting real time data is expensive. Also you’ll have to keep retraining it and the hardware needed for that is in my case the biggest problem. Training it on 2 Months of daily data took like 5 hours on my 3070 ti and even that doesn’t work as good as I hoped. And even when all things are done, most trades doesn’t really work considering execution costs and brokerage fees.
So yeah it is possible and not that hard in theory but there are lots of things to consider in practice.
