Day 1: Zubeen Garg song with the best lyrics.
Zubeen - Pakhi meli diye (one of the most lyrically strong song by anyone in Assam, very abstract in its meaning) My fav part : মেঘৰঞ্জনী চুমি যাব যেনিবা, ভৈৰৱ পুৱাৰো ভূপালী সন্ধ্যা ৷ নিষাদৰে ধাৰ কিনো, গান্ধাৰ পাৰ কিনো, আনন্দ প্ৰমাণ সাক্ষী, শুনাব খুজি ৷ -

Kerala: Student assaulted, filmed nude by classmates in Kottayam; probe begins after video shared online
To some extent I agree with the principle of child centered ‘*learning – teaching’* processes. If the students take initiatives to the process of learning, this process becomes a joyous one. No doubt. If we say that the teacher is not merely a supplier of knowledge but a facilitator, and the child should be encouraged to take active initiation, then the questions arise “Do we prepare our student generation for this?” “Does a child join a school by his / her own?” “Do we give the child the right to select the school he /she should study?” “Do we make them a responsible lot?” The answer is negative. And so is the outcome.
Harsh treatment or corporal punishment as we call it today is not at all necessary if a child behaves responsibly. Nevertheless if he / she grows irresponsibly, sooner than later he/she will taste the sour fruits of his/ her own behavior. By the time it will be too late for remedial measures. When one student, by his / her rude behavior, prevent other students to exercise the right to study, some such measures are necessary when all other measures are found futile. Here comes the Damocles’ sword of child right. Even a grade one student is aware of it, and quite often uses it to threaten the teacher. In fact, the need of the hour is not a Child Right Act, (read Human Rights Commission) but a Child Responsibility Act, (read Human Responsibility Commission) by which one should be brought to the law enforcement authorities if one fails to fulfill one’s responsibilities. If the latter can’t be done why do we enact the former? Worse than that, when a normally behaving child finds that all the misconduct of his friends are ignored and no disciplinary measures are taken to refine them the former too tries to behave like the latter. After all children are children. -

Made a stupid yet dangerous mistake today.
Very true!
I was driving on a pretty wide state highway with almost no traffic.
Just cruising along. My treking back pack was in the front seat, and kept banging against the glove box (I had my laptop and DSLR too there, so didn't want to put it in the boot).
So I thought, I will just slowly lift and move it to the back seat. Sounds easy right? Empty road, cruising speed....
But, boy, was I wrong!
While lifting it and trying to squeeze it through the gap between front seats to the back seat, it kept getting caught in the middle.
Empty roads, cruising speed.... So stupid me thought it was okay to just momentarily look back and put the bag properly.
It was hardly 3-4 seconds.
What happened was, while trying to twist my body, my right arm that was holding the steering twisted too slightly, and bam! bam! - Thudding noise, and I realised I drove the car over the divider (those low height dividers), and hit a couple of short mile markers.
Front was completely damaged, bumper busted, crack appeared in windshield, right side headlights completely smashed to pieces, coolant fuid started leaking, horn started blowing non stop, ac compressor conked off, and bonnet got bent upwards like in a heavy crash.
Invoice was for 64K+ and it took 8 days to fix in the authorised service center.
I was lucky I wasn't hurt, and didn't hurt another person.
So long story short - have your complete attention ON while driving! Momentary lapses are probably the cause of most of the accidents! -

Decathlon repairs cycles?
Well, since no answers yet…….for their own workout machines, they do repair them for a charge. I would assume they repair cycles bought from their store at least. -
My brother is curious about IIT KGP’s courses. What’s something unique about how subjects are taught here?
Students: They want subjects with less 'load'.. and if a Prof is strict in grading, then uski maa-behen ek kardenge on social media. Isiliye Professors think like WTF.. let's give them 8+.... hamara kya jaata hai.. afterall no fellow works in core. मुल्ला की दौड़ मस्जिद तक, most Kgpian wants a job in coding or in quants ..
Professors: Old professors are still OK. They maintain good research profile. Even if they see one or two students who are interested in that subject, they teach with enthu.. But the quality of new faculty in KGP is pathetic.. people with h-index in single digits are Asst or Associate Professors.. -
