I've lived there for 1.5 years. Mehsana, amod, olpad, baroda, ahmadabad. And no one asked my caste, although being an outsider, I couldn't talk to people much but people that I worked with didn't ask about my caste.

Yes, the people Policing your actions is a thing that I witnessed and it could be a good thing, for example during garba outsiders are not allowed. But I witnessed and learned from a few gujarati friends that extra marital affairs are quite common. I saw middle aged men and women walking out of hotels I used to stay at with their faces covered (one example hotel cobra near cobra chowkdi, kalol).
  6. Need Help! Drop your banger Sambaar Recipes

Add equal parts of Masoor dal and mung dal instead of adding Toor. It not only is a healthier option but is also super yum. Also, instead of adding the Tadka(Thaalipu Seeds that we add in the beginning: Mustard Seeds, Jeera, Fenugreek) at the beginning, roast them seeds nicely in a dollop of Ghee + Gingelly oil with a handful of Cashews, curry leaves a Tsp of Kashmir chilli powder and Turmeric powder for that Appetizing look and Flavorful Aroma. You'll fall in Love with Sambar all over again! This is my secret Recipe and everyone right from Adults to my 3 yr old baby is a HUGE Fan of my Sambar! Hope you like it too. ♥️🥰

  9. Can Sanjay Leela Bhansali be called a great filmmaker if he's obsessed with the sets and costumes instead of the plot and characterization?

Film is a visual medium. How dare a director prioritize visual elements.

  14. Can Sanjay Leela Bhansali be called a great filmmaker if he's obsessed with the sets and costumes instead of the plot and characterization?

    5 months
That is a very thought-provoking question, and it comes down to what makes a filmmaker "great" in the eyes of the audience. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is undoubtedly a master of visual storytelling. His obsession with sets, costumes, and grandeur creates a world so immersive that you feel transported into another era. His films are like paintings that move—and in that sense, his artistry is unparalleled.

But does that make him a great filmmaker? It depends on perspective. While critics argue that sometimes his plots or character arcs may feel secondary to the spectacle, his strength lies in evoking emotion through the visual medium. Take Devdas or Bajirao Mastani—even if the narrative had its flaws, the emotional weight was amplified by the stunning aesthetics. The visuals become part of the storytelling, reflecting the inner turmoil or grandeur of the characters' lives.

That being said, if a filmmaker is using only visual appeal and not much storytelling or character depth, then their films will turn out to be hollow spectacles. Bhansali has proved he can do both. For example, Black had minimal sets, but it struck a chord because of its characters and plot. Therefore, though he does lean on aesthetics heavily, it's not fair to say he prioritizes them over plot and characterization each time.

Maybe the real question is—is storytelling ever about plot and character, or can the images do it all? Bhansali's films are never written for people who want tight scripts, but they are certainly powerful in terms of feeling.

Do you think he should be judged on his strengths or his perceived weaknesses?

Similar experience with street light issues. The one in front of my house wouldn't turn off during the day like it always used to. I thought this was a really silly issue to be brought up to BBMP but I did it for the heck of it anyways and they actually came and resolved it haha. Very unexpected but also cool at the same time

And how she said “she likes it” when her guy said it’s all darkness in his case. Even though she tries to make it look like she’s okay w him being dark but why talk about it again and again? Her only selling opinion as per her is her complexion and not to forget her tatas. She gives me the ick.
