Jobs are modern cotton fields
I lasted 2 months in my last job (Aldi, fuck them) before I was let go.
On the interview they said that the company policy is basically to be as short staffed as humanly possible to maximize profits, as if that's something to be proud of. Should have been a massive red flag.
For the worker it essentially means that you never catch a break for even a second, not being able to go home if you get ill, and getting called to come in on your days off if anyone gets sick, too.
I think even slaves in ancient Greece had better perks than that. -
for Indian Redditors who can cook : what was that one dish you f*cked up gorgeously while cooking but you smile everytime that incident occurs in your mind?
Lol. I did the exact same thing but with poha. In our home we wash poha then add sugar and red chilli powder.
But that day due to some hurry i added sugar and red chilli powder before washing poha.
When I did, I realised i fked up.
But somehow i did some experiments and it turned out to be good. -
I know this sounds crazy, but I think we're in the bad place.

Path to Enlightenment
It takes balls to accept and acknowledge - that you’ve shown in your journey so far. Coming out of addiction and taking steps toward your spiritual path is no small feat. It takes immense determination to face oneself and choose healing. The fact that you are seeking wisdom and asking these profound questions speaks volumes about your readiness for transformation.
Advaita Vedanta, as you’ve discovered, has a deep and powerful way of approaching the nature of self, consciousness, and liberation. The realization that you are not your body and not your mind is the first step toward freedom from suffering. What you're searching for—peace, clarity, and an end to suffering—is found within, in understanding your true nature.
Where to start
1. Deepen your understanding of Self (Atman) and Brahman: Advaita Vedanta teaches that the individual soul (Atman) and the universal consciousness (Brahman) are one. The key teaching is "Tat tvam asi" — "You are that." You, as an individual, are not separate from the universe, and your true essence is pure consciousness. Keep contemplating this truth, and let it resonate deeply within you.
Study the Upanishads more deeply, particularly those that focus on the nature of the self and the world, such as the Chandogya Upanishad, Mundaka Upanishad, and Isa Upanishad.
Try reading them not just intellectually but with the intention of deep reflection. Ask yourself: “What does this really mean for me right now? How can I apply this understanding to my life today? Read them and ask the sub for help to understand
2. Meditation (Dhyana): Meditation is the gateway to self-realization in Advaita Vedanta. By quieting the mind and turning inward, you can directly experience your true nature. Start with a simple practice of sitting in silence, focusing on your breath, and observing the thoughts that arise without getting caught up in them. The goal is not to eliminate thoughts but to develop awareness of the space between thoughts, where your true self resides. People say I can meditate for hours : thats rare and often BS. The desireless calm state of mind stays only for a few while.
In Advaita Vedanta, the practice of Neti Neti (not this, not this) is common. When you meditate, repeat the mantra "I am not my thoughts, I am not my body, I am not my emotions." Slowly, you will begin to peel away the layers that cover your true nature. You are his ansh. You are him. God ain't outside above in a lok in kaliyug. He is in you.
3. Self-Inquiry (Atma Vichara): This is one of the central practices of Advaita Vedanta. The great sage Ramana Maharshi often emphasized the question “Who am I?” as the path to self-realization. Ask yourself this question continuously throughout the day: “Who is it that is experiencing this moment?” or “Who is it that is thinking these thoughts?” Whenever you feel the weight of suffering or confusion, return to this inquiry. The answer is not found through the mind but by observing the mind and realizing its true nature.
4. Live in alignment with your higher self: Apply the teachings of Advaita Vedanta in your everyday life by constantly reminding yourself that your true nature is peace and awareness. When you face challenges or emotions, remember that you are the witness of these experiences, not the experience itself. This shift in perspective can help you feel detached from the pain of the past and the anxiety of the future.
You mentioned suffering—remember that suffering arises when the ego attaches to the thoughts, feelings, and experiences that pass through the mind. Understanding that you are beyond the ego helps free you from the grip of these fleeting experiences. Let go of the need to control or fix everything. Trust the flow of life, knowing that your true self is untouched by whatever comes or goes.
5. Grace and Surrender: In Advaita Vedanta, there is a concept of Ishvara (God or the higher power), but the nature of God is seen as the same as the self. The divine is within you, as you, and you are within it. Surrender to the divine, allowing yourself to trust the process and to recognize that everything that happens is part of your unfolding journey. Allow the flow of life to guide you, knowing you are held by the universe.
6. Satsang (Spiritual Company): Engage with others who are on the same spiritual path. Satsang, or being in the company of truth-seekers, is invaluable. Surround yourself with people who uplift you, challenge you, and encourage your spiritual practice. Reading the works of spiritual teachers, engaging with their teachings, and discussing them can provide clarity and motivation.
Overcoming Suffering
Suffering, in Advaita Vedanta, is seen as a result of ignorance (avidya). When you identify with the body, the mind, or the ego, you forget your true nature. This leads to the attachment, fear, and pain that we experience as suffering.
The key to ending suffering is self-realization: the understanding that you are the eternal witness, not the transient body or mind. Once you begin to experience the truth of who you are, suffering loses its grip. Even when challenges arise, they are seen as temporary and part of the unfolding of your true nature.
Practical Advice :
1. Live consciously: Pay attention to your thoughts, actions, and emotions. The more aware you are, the less attached you’ll become to them. Practice mindfulness in everything you do.
2. Be kind and compassionate: The more you act with love and compassion toward others, the more you’ll feel connected to your true self. Giving and serving others are powerful ways to heal. Help anybody in anyform you can.
3. Detach from material pursuits: While Advaita Vedanta doesn’t demand renunciation, it emphasizes detachment from the transient world. This doesn’t mean abandoning everything but recognizing the impermanence of material things.
4. Do not rush the process: Realization takes time, and it’s a lifelong journey. Be patient with yourself, knowing that every step brings you closer to the truth.
Peace comes from the realization that you are already complete. You are not broken, nor do you need anything external to fix you. The peace you seek is within you, always. Through your continued practice of self-inquiry, meditation, and understanding the teachings of Advaita Vedanta, you will find this peace slowly and steadily.Visit my profile for some good intellectual posts that will help you think in better format.
Remember, the path to enlightenment is not about achieving something outside yourself but about uncovering the truth that has always been within you. Every step on this journey is a return to yourself. To paramatma. To brahman.
You.
May you continue to walk this path with courage and grace. 🙏 Sitaram 🌞 -

Options and algorithms destroyed the market
I’ve done 200 CFD trades since October, only 9 of them red. I’m up 21k from 5k initial investment. 26k in total. The market isn’t against you, you’re just failing, and that’s ok because most do. But you have to play properly to win. You have to LEARN, fully. I studied for years, only using practice accounts until I’d NAILED my strategy. It’s not right 100% of the time, but as long as it’s more green then red, it’s working. -
Why do we Indians not realize that by treating dark-skinned people as ugly and inferior, and light-skinned people as beautiful, we are keeping ourselves inferior to the world, even in our own minds?
I wish people who r ugly and black or brown color like me should stop having kids and getting married , so we don’t have to feel shit everytime. -

How to resale stuff without being a shop owner
You can ask to salesman on beaches, walkway
But since you mean you don't want shop owner this would be a good idea(since you had mentioned that you would sell it at a wholesale rate)
Or contact any colleges who conducts any event through the night.you can sell it off to them

Trump generously makes up an approval rating for himself, defying reality
I know this isn't the point, but I can't fucking believe we're doing this again. It's the exact same shit as the first time except even fewer guardrails and more yes men around him. Every day is fucking chaos as to what he will do. Last time he had the benefit of an improving economy that he goosed with standard fare R tax cuts.
This time? The economy is stable, but shaky. Prices are still rising, AI threatens employment and he just torched 200K full time workers.
I just can't believe so many people signed up for this shit again. -
