The audacity of Amar ughh…I wanted to slap him..Yes even with context,this is still disturbing but then again,that is exactly what we are supposed to feel. See it from Manisha’s pov..he’s forcing himself on her despite her fighting it off fiercely which is a metaphor for how central govt forces itself on marginalised states without taking into account their perspective..The way Manisha feels like puking in the end I get that so bad…I felt that fr..her acting was so realistic and top notch omg…the greatest performance ever…

It’s the audience’s fault for glorifying him. That’s why mani Ratnam’s casting is a genius stroke..he put romantic image SRK in to make it seem it’s love when it’s not that clearly..he wanted people to watch it via his fame but the role is of an asshole which gets masked up in his image....and also the innocent looking Manisha Koirala in the role of a terrorist was a masterstroke too..she looks so innocent and her portrayal is so haunting that we easily gain sympathy for her despite her terrorism..

Also the cinematography(the way everything is framed) and music oh my god(music is legendary)..this film was something else..there’s a rhythm to everything that happens in this..they way the actors move,the music, the rock formations in Ladakh…and the cinematography captures all of that brilliantly…the Ladakh landscapes and Manisha Koirala’s beauty complemented each other so good. Most beautiful film to ever exist!
