IT absolutely pays well...I started my carrer in TCS a decade ago n due to stupid Indian mentality I cracked govt job n switched 3 years latter...with decade experience mist of my old TCS colleagues earn at least 5 times more than me for people staying in India..better not to compare people who settled abroad who r abt 50%..so to answer urs..IT absolutely pays n best part will be for WFH guys...they take metro level salaries and stay with parents at tier 4 cities...if u takes only kids education from equation life is metro doesn't make much sense as per their logic..
