I've nothing against Hindi or any other language ofc, but no language should be imposed on anyone in any part of India, be it Hindi or any other language. I'm saying this as someone who is extremely fluent in, and comfortable with Hindi, even though it's not my native language.

Just look at how Hindi imposition is harming the falsely labelled "Hindi Belt" itself. So many languages in that region have been wrongly categorised as dialects of Hindi, even though they're so clearly their own language. It's ridiculous. This is not to say that Hindi doesn't have its own dialects, because it definitely does, but the actual Hindi-speaking population is only around 10% of the country, but because of this artificial classification, the number of Hindi speakers inflates to 40-45% of the country. The languages of UP, MP, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand, the Pahadi languages of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, the Rajasthani languages, and the Bihari languages, have all been wrongly subsumed into the Hindi fold, by falsely labelling them as dialects of Hindi. This artificially increases the number of Hindi speakers in the country. Linguists and other experts consider all these as their own languages, distinct from Hindi and from each other.

The aim should be to preserve every language in the country, and not impose any language on any anyone in any part of the country
