Okay don't hate me, i absolutely love lagaan and have watched it for about 4 times now.

But what is "so" special about it? It's a great film and I love it, but I don't find anything so exceptional about it. Even the mankading of the kid was a writing error since the first incident of mankading was recorded in 1947 and the movie is supposed to take place before 1947. One plot point which I found weak was that lakha never got to have a good enough redeeming arc since he got injured just after realising his mistake and wasn't able to provide anything positive to the team compared to the losses they had to face because of him. I'll love to know what's something that I missed.
