And yes, East Asians have a very positive reputation but they worked hard to build that rep. They made their countries developed and prosperous. For a while, they were bullied and ostracized too but now they are popular. Japanese culture blew up. Now Korean culture is everything. Pop culture is obsessed with East Asians. BTS, Stray Kids, Chinese dramas, Kdramas, Anime, Jpop. Everyone knows about them. Now everyone wants to experience Asia, be friends with them, date them. No longer they are considered nerdy and bullied for eating weird foods. They are now cool and trendy. With Rednote, more and more people are letting go of their anti China sentiments and becoming more interested in China and their culture.

Unfortunately, with India it's the opposite. India failed to make an impact. Whatever little reputation they had about spirituality, cuisine and mystery, is now destroyed thanks to large scale immigrants and internet. Before 2023, the reputation was still okay. Now everything has gone downhill. Not only in terms of economy, but culturally, for a country as big as ours we have little to no impact. Whether it be in art, literature, music, film, fashion and even online trends. Idk if we will ever have that transition like East Asia did.
