Jumping from a 125cc to direct 400cc+ is a commitment and a statement within itself.

Context: i am upgrading from a discover 125 to speed 400 in few months , and when i test rode speed , it was entirely out of my league. The power available at top is too much to be used anywhere on city streets but it was also pretty well behaved.
Scrambler in my opinion literally felt like the elephant in the room , with the way i was seated , it just didn’t sit right with me. I realised within 3 kms when i had to stop at traffic signals and then go again , then this feels bigger for my preference or preferred riding style , i could
Manage it , my feet were reaching nicely down to ground, but i was constantly thinking and too aware of what to do next , whereas with SPEED400 ride I didn’t think much at all and came back smiling.

Now to main point , there are very good and competent bikes around in range of 2-3lakhs , i’d suggest to stick to this price range because here’s a reality check

This all would drink fuel a lot of fuel.

You will have to account for some accidental spending and also the ownership costs(maintenance, spares , consumables) etc

You should get some riding gear.( costly hobby it’s turning into now)

You will not always be on a bike , someday you will have to get a car or something utilitarian (scooty , ev whatever works). [this is a personal opinion , think for yourself]

So since you are upgrading from a commuter it would be fine to grow a little , become a bit more wise, save a little before jumping into the 40+ HP territory because no matter what people say (including the experts) there’s no rationale thinking involved past the 40hp point.
