Entire Bharat should learn from Navi Mumbai
Bhai hosh me ha? Planned city? This is peak propoganda. I used to believe this till I saw reality. It began as a planned project but gave into habits of Indian mentality.
Show me one good liveable flat there where I can probably go have a walk, find convience stores nearby, don't have to deal with smell, wierd & small paths, mosquitos. And can chill.
There are high rise buildings is quieter neighborhoods with sky high prices which is called a decent place not posh. But you pay posh price, also there's this bad odour & mosquitoes everywhere, with poorly constructed layout of buildings nearby & weird roads, footpaths all intersecting.
Every 1km you can find a big dumpster or Gutter with the worst smell. And coming to where majority live not the towers, but normal buildings they are so tightly constructed. You can always see the neighbouring flat in other building very clear & algae and stuff facing your windows sometimes. I can tell it isn't planned how the few buildings aren't even aligned with views of roads, other slums, or something bad.
I don't call this planned, even the shops are cluttered here and there, so much litter and all. Vashi looks planned from outside but you start going to alleyways you can see the faults but still I saw Vashi is okay & good. But rest of navi mumbai, what a complete disaster.
Better off staying anywhere else in Mumbai even govandi or kurla is better planned & atleast there isn't that nauseating bad chemical and gutter smell. -
Hard to find Doctor in Pune!!!
System of physicians has gone out of fashion in the Society. General Physician are used only for Telephonic Consultation ( Thus it's suppose to be Free of Cost).
Gen Z use rely more on Google than Physicians.
Pediatrician is go to for kids. In our childhood, they'll come only till child is 2 years old. Today Parents go to Pediatrician till child is 7 years old.
By the way, Go to Multi Specialities Clinic ( for Example Vitalife Clinic) if you are in Pashan, Baner, Aundh area.
You can find General Physician (MBBS) in the clinic. -

No more sedans from Maruti!?
Indian road conditions (uneven speed breakers, potholes, patched roads, gravel or mud roads) are the reasons for this change. I have a sedan and absolutely love it on highways but not in cities or hilly areas or costal roads. -

What's the real purpose of life?
The purpose of life is to work hard, remain humble, expand your influence, and create a path that helps others grow.
Educate yourself in ethical reasoning, logical thinking, and factual evidence. Seek love, and don’t settle for someone who expects you to compromise without practicing it in their own life. Grow old and pray to God for good health and happiness. Raise individuals like yourself who will carry on your legacy and commit to doing the same. -

Why do you consider Marathas to be great?Thoughts?
The Maratha Confederacy was not perfect like any other kingdom.
There were inspiring kings and peshwas but there were also really nasty ones. Interestingly, they fought each other as much as fighting outsiders. Shivaji fought Sambhaji in a battle.Tarabai fought Shahu. Raghunath Rao was murdered by his uncle. Maratha chiefs continuously fought each other. The 2nd Anglo Maratha war is actually a Maratha civil war.
Sadly the Marathas fought alongside the British to conquer territory here and there. They fought and were thrashed by a tiny kingdom in Mysore in the first Anglo-Mysore war. Think about that. This is a giant empire led by Peshwa Madhavrao fighting alongside foreigners to subjugate Indian kingdoms. Only the Holkars of Indore defied the Peshwa and fought against the English.
Not a lot of difference between some Peshwas and Mir Jaffar or Raja Jaisingh imo. They allied with the Nizam of Hyderabad and the British to fight Mysore. They razed Sringeri Matta which was established by Adi Shankaracharya 200-250 years before. Finally, the English interfered in one of their usual civil wars and took over whatever was left of their territory.
In fact even later, in 1857, when the rebellion broke out and many rulers joined forces against the British the Maratha Peshwa did not want to fight. Nanasaheb Peshwa was an adopted son and the Doctrine of Lapse meant he couldnnot inherit. He sent lawyers to England to plead his case and lost. Then after a lot of pushing by Tantiya Tope he joined the 1857 war of independence to secure his inheritance.
Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Peshwa Baji Rao I and Chatrapati Shahu Maharaj were inspiring, courageous and glorious leaders. Not only because of their achievements on the battlefield but because they stood for an idea. Shivaji Maharaj's idea of Swaraj is revolutionary. His was the first seal in Sanskrit as a 16yo boy. His father's seal was also in Persian. His seal says that his rule is for the benefit of ALL. Not any single community but for all Indians. He set a goal for his people not only to liberate themselves but also all of India. Indus to beyond the Ganges. 100 years after his death Peshwas still write about his vision saying we are going to Attock because this was the Maharaj's dream.
Also just FYI it's not true that the Marathas were the first native Empire in India after many centuries. The Vijayanagara Empire was the first native Empire after centuries of foreign dominance. Just as they were disintegrating the Marathas came onto the scene. So this idea that "natives" were not capable of Empire building till Chatrapati Shivaji is also wrong.
TLDR - the Maratha Confederacy was like any other great Indian kingdom. Definitely not greater than the others. Imperfect kings, some great, some terrible. Founded on inspiring ideals that some kings/Peshwas abandoned for money and land and some lived and died by. -
