You should also be capabe of paying through your RuPay card. The NCMC part of it at least. You don't have to pull out the UPI app that way, which I find cumbersome.

It's a single card intended to be interoperable with all mass transportation payments networks. So Namma Metro or KSRTC city buses with card reading machines should be capable of reading this card as an RFID card and make charge you for the transit.

NCMC was released back in 2019 but it is taking time for pickup as the debit cards issued by banks gradually phase out old existing cards. All debit and credit RuPay cards issued by your bank will likely have this feature.

Mangaluru won't see it much due to CCT and Chalo's presence but people going along the Mluru-Udupi or inter-taluk corridors might get to use it more often.
